Join us to make a difference for the St. Johns River

We have all levels of volunteer work, from on-the-water to helping at events and clean-ups!

 

Volusia County St. Johns River Cleanup

  • Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 8am to 11am

  • Location: 8 Locations (See Map)

  • Volunteers Needed: Open participation

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: Cleaning up litter along the shoreline by walking, joining us in a pontoon boat, or bringing your own canoe/kayak or trailered boat

  • Description: While MRR is not sponsoring this event, it’s a great opportunity to support the health of our river. There are multiple cleanup locations across Volusia County, so feel free to choose what works best for you. I’ll be volunteering at Ed Stone Park in DeLand and would welcome anyone who’d like to join me. If you have MRR apparel, we encourage you to wear it. We’ll also have a limited number of T-shirts available. Remember to take photos and share your favorites afterward. We may feature them on social media. Mud Hole Block Party

  • Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00am to 3:00pm

  • Location: Mudhole Custom Tackle 2133 Component Loop, Oviedo, FL

  • Volunteers Needed: 8 – 10 Volunteers

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: Engage with attendees at the Mighty River Recovery booth, talk with attendees, hand out MRR info cards, help register new members

  • Description: A free, family-friendly community event bringing together anglers, local businesses, and outdoor enthusiasts for a day of fishing gear, food, and connection. MRR will have a booth on-site where volunteers will help represent the organization, engage with attendees, and connect them to our mission while growing our community.



Seminole County St. Johns River Cleanup

  • Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9am to 11am

  • Location: 3 Locations (C.S. Lee Park, Mullet Lake Park, Lake Monroe Wayside Park)

  • Volunteers Needed: Open participation

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: Cleaning up litter along the shoreline by walking, bringing your own canoe/kayak, or by bringing your own trailered boat

  • Description: While MRR is not sponsoring this event, it’s a great opportunity to support the health of our river. There are multiple cleanup locations across Seminole County, so feel free to choose what works best for you. If you have MRR apparel, we encourage you to wear it. 2026 St. Johns River Bartram Frolic & Festival

  • Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8:00am to 4:00pm

  • Volunteers Needed: 6 – 8 Volunteers

  • Location: Downtown Palatka Riverfront

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: Engage with attendees at the Mighty River Recovery booth, talk with attendees, hand out MRR info cards, help register new members

  • Description: An annual, family-friendly festival in Palatka celebrating the natural and cultural heritage of the St. Johns River, inspired by the work of William Bartram. MRR will have a booth at the event where volunteers will help represent the organization, engage with attendees, and connect them to our mission while growing our community. 2nd Annual Mud Hole Charity Golf Classic

  • Date: Friday, May 16, 2026, from 8:00am to 4:00pm

  • Volunteers Needed: 6 – 8 Volunteers

  • Location: Twin Rivers Golf Club 2100 Ekana Dr, Oviedo, FL

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: Engage with attendees at the Mighty River Recovery booth, talk with golfers, hand out MRR info cards, help register new members

  • Description: The 2nd Annual Mud Hole Charity Golf Classic is a fun and impactful day on the course benefiting Mighty River Recovery! MRR will have a tent set up on one of the holes where volunteers will help with setup and engage with golfers throughout the event. Half of the tournament's proceeds goes directly to Mighty River Recovery to support our work of improving fish and wildlife habitat on the St. Johns River, making this a great opportunity to represent MRR and connect with the community.
